Terms of Service
The agreement.
Plain English. No traps. If you don't agree with what's below, don't use the service. If you find something here that feels off, email us and we'll talk — terms are a starting point, not a wall.
Last updated: 2026-05-18.
1. Who this agreement is between
"Conversation", "we", or "us" means the people operating conversation.pages.dev. "You" means the adult parent or legal guardian who creates an account and chooses to install the agent on their teenager's laptop.
2. What we provide
An AI service that:
- Captures screenshots from a laptop you've installed our agent on.
- Analyzes them with AI for things a parent would want to know about.
- Sends you summaries and alerts via WhatsApp and our web dashboard.
- Lets you chat with the agent about what it's seen.
The service is currently in beta. Features and pricing may change with reasonable notice as described below.
3. Your responsibilities
You must be the adult in the household
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any minor whose device you install the agent on.
You install with consent
You agree to install our agent on a device only with the knowledge of the person who primarily uses it (or, if they're a minor under your care, with appropriate disclosure for their age). You will not use our service for covert surveillance, stalking, harassment, or any unlawful monitoring.
You won't install on devices that aren't yours or your family's
Don't install our agent on a partner's laptop without their consent. Don't install on a roommate's, a friend's, or a former partner's device. Don't install on workplace devices without explicit IT authorization. We will cooperate with law enforcement when the law requires it.
You'll keep your account secure
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't share your credentials.
4. What we promise
- We won't sell your data. Ever. Even if we get acquired, this commitment survives the acquisition — the new owner is bound by the privacy promises that were in effect when you signed up.
- We won't use your teen's screenshots or DMs to train AI models. Anthropic, our AI provider, contractually doesn't either.
- We won't paywall safety alerts. If your teen is in genuine danger, you'll hear about it whether you're paying us or not.
- We won't trigger upgrade prompts during a crisis. For 48 hours after a medium-or-higher severity alert, no upsell appears anywhere in the product.
- We will give you our data back. Anytime. In machine-readable form.
- We will delete your data when you ask. Within 30 days.
5. Pricing + billing
Free tier
Free, forever. One child's laptop, all alerts, daily digest, dashboard read-only, 7 days of history. We may change what's included in the free tier, but we will give you 30 days' notice of any reduction.
Pro tier
$7/month or $59/year, billed in advance through Stripe. 14-day trial, no credit card required. You can cancel anytime through your dashboard or the Stripe customer portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial periods unless you cancel within 7 days of an annual renewal.
Founding Member tier
$49/year, locked at that rate for the lifetime of the account, available to the first 500 Pro signups during the launch window. Includes everything in Pro. If you cancel a Founding subscription, the lifetime-locked rate is forfeited — re-subscribing later goes through standard Pro pricing.
Price changes
If we raise the standard Pro price, existing paying customers keep their current rate for at least 12 months. We'll give you 30 days' written notice (via email + WhatsApp + dashboard banner) before any price change.
Failed payments
If your card fails, we'll retry over 14 days. After 14 days of failed billing, your subscription is canceled and your account drops to the free tier. Your data is preserved; you can re-upgrade anytime.
6. Beta status + service availability
The service is in active beta. We make a good-faith effort to keep it running, but we don't guarantee uptime. You should not rely on Conversation as your only source of awareness about your teen's online life. Talking to her is still the main thing.
If we go down for more than 24 hours in any single billing month, we'll credit your account by that proportion.
7. AI accuracy + limitations
Our AI is good but not perfect. It will sometimes miss things that matter and flag things that don't. We work to improve this every week. You shouldn't treat the absence of an alert as proof that nothing concerning is happening — and you shouldn't treat the presence of an alert as proof that something certainly is.
Specifically: alerts are signals, not legal evidence. They're for parental awareness, not for use in custody disputes, employment decisions, or criminal proceedings.
8. What we can do with the service
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Use the service for surveillance of someone whose consent you don't have.
- Install the agent on workplace devices without IT authorization.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our APIs.
- Threaten or abuse our support team.
- Fail to pay after the failed-payment grace period.
We will explain why before terminating, except in cases of severe abuse where immediate action is needed.
9. Intellectual property
The Conversation service, agent code, brand, and content are ours. You don't get a license to redistribute, white-label, or rebrand them.
The data we collect about your family — observations, alerts, chat messages, screenshots — is yours. We process it on your behalf under the terms of this agreement and our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers + liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will catch every concerning event on your teen's laptop.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.
We are not liable for any consequential, incidental, or indirect damages, including but not limited to: harm caused by your teen's online activity that we didn't detect or didn't alert you to; damage to your relationship with your teen arising from your decisions about how to act on our alerts; or any third party's actions toward your family.
11. Governing law + disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute that can't be resolved between us directly will be resolved by binding arbitration in Sydney, NSW, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for IP, security, or confidentiality violations.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose consumer protection law applies regardless of choice-of-law clauses, those laws apply to you and override the previous paragraph to the extent of any conflict.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll notify you of material changes via email + dashboard banner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the change indicates acceptance; if you don't agree, you can export your data and delete your account during the notice period without penalty.
